From New York to Paris, Milan, Dubai and Birmingham...the International Opera Awards look to Birmingham!

It's five stars for Birmingham Opera Company and our collaborators as we're recognised among the best events and names in opera of the past year from around the world.

And the five stars are..

⭐ Alpesh Chauhan (Conductor, made his UK operatic debut with Birmingham Opera Company's Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk)

⭐ Birmingham Opera Company (Outreach)

⭐ Chrystal E Williams (Young Singer, performed the title role in Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk)

⭐ Graham Vick (Director)

⭐ And it's great to see our artistic collaborators Poznań Opera House nominated for best Rediscovered Work for their production Paria. Directed by Graham Vick, the show involved a cast of hundreds of volunteers and professional artists performing together at the Arena Poznań.

These nominations celebrate the thousands of audiences, hundreds of local volunteers and acclaimed team of international artists who inspired 6 sold-out shows of our landmark 50th production Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk. Together, we all learn what makes opera great.
