2pm-11pm Saturday 29th August The first Weekender kick starts on August Bank Holiday - traditionally a weekend of culture, celebration and connection. Artists from across the region respond to “Ritual” with pre-recorded, live stream and face to face gatherings. Alpesh Chauhan - Music Director

Birmingham Opera Company has announced that conductor Alpesh Chauhan will join the organisation as Music Director from 1 July 2020. Chauhan will stand alongside Artistic Director Graham Vick leading the Company on its mission to make great opera for all the peoples of Birmingham.

The large scale productions you see are the tip of an iceberg. throughout the year we are bringing opera to the people . We know that music can really touch everyone. Singing and performing together is the most effective way of sharing identity and finding ways of living and working together. We need your help to raise funds for at least 60 free events across all parts of Birmingham.
