In 2015 Birmingham Opera Company was awarded an Arts Council Exceptional Award that gave us the chance to explore the visionary genius of Michael Tippett.

His daring, experimental opera The Ice Break is a challenge for performers and audiences alike. The breaking ice is our family relationships, our cities, our culture, our gods our selves. Tippett's highly personal theatrical world and vital, visceral, achingly beautiful music have brought new life to this ever more diverse company...

Performances took place in April 2015 in B12 Warehouse in Digbeth.
