You are warmly invited to join us when Birmingham Opera Company throws open its doors and welcomes the public in to enjoy a cornucopia of goodies and events this Easter.
 
Stars from the company’s new production of Verdi’s Othello will be in town to serenade us with some of opera’s most sublime music.  Ronald Samm (Othello), Stephanie Corley (Desdemona) and Keel Watson (Iago) will be performing with pianist Sergey Rybin.
 
It doesn’t stop there though!
 
Artistic Director, Graham Vick will be on hand with his team including choreographer Ron Howell, Gospel star Genevieve Sylva, and Chorus Master, Jonathan Laird to offer some delightful tasters  for you, your friends and shoppers at The Pavilions Shopping Centre to join and have a go.

GOOD FRIDAY – 10TH APRIL

2.30pm to 5.30pm – Open Coaching Rehearsal
The Town Hall – Free Event
Graham Vick will be working with principal singers, Ronald Samm, Stephanie Corley and Keel Watson in a coaching session with pianist Sergey Rybin. You will get privileged access and an insight into the way singers prepare their roles .
 

EASTER SATURDAY – 11TH APRIL

12 noon to 5pm
Pavilions Shopping Centre, High Street – Open Day- Free Event

12 noon     Genevieve Sylva & Ben Kennedy – Join in singing in the Arena

12.30pm    Graham Vick – Welcome & Introduction to Othello

1pm           Ronald Samm, Stephanie Corley & Keel Watson serenade shoppers from the Arena.

1.30pm      Genevieve Sylva & Ben Kennedy - singalong for everybody to have go in the Arena

2pm           Ron Howell – Get up, Shake & Dance with Ron.

2.45pm      Ronald Samm, Stephanie Corley & Keel Watson take to the Arena again to sing highlights from Othello

3pm           Jonathan Laird leads a Voice Off

3.30pm      Richard Willacy & Ron Howell  - Move along and Act Up.

4.15pm      Last performance from Company stars in the Arena with singalong for everybody to join in.

5.00pm ends
